With the spring semester winding down at the University of Findlay, the Mazza Museum is getting ready to host its final Funday Sunday event of the season on April 2 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. The theme, Rockin’ Robots, will allow children and guests to the Museum to get up close and personal with these unmanned machines.
The event is meant to inspire children in the areas of technology with a variety of activities and guests. The Children’s Museum of Findlay, located in the Findlay Village Mall, will bring along their robot, Baxter, to provide hands-on experience. Robots designed by local students from Findlay High School Millstream Career Center Engineering and CAD program will be part of the action. Another robot visiting the Museum will be the infection prevention cleaning robot from Blanchard Valley Health System.
Guests will once again experience live music during the event by the University’s Spencer Cunningham, professor of arts, with the Cotton Wood Jam String Band. Akron-Summit County Public Library will offer a presentation and host a station for hands-on activities. Leah Brant, American sign language instructor, along with members of the American Sign Language Club, will have their own station and provide story time with signing. The pharmacy department will also host a station with activities. As usual, the event will have face painting, art activities, games, photo opportunities, story, drama and artist stations.
Funday Sunday will return on Oct. 1, 2017 with brand new themes, activities and special guests.
