Can I come to the Health Center if I do not have insurance?
Sure! We see all students regardless of insurance coverage.
Do I need an appointment?
You do not need an appointment to see the nurse, but you will need one to see
the doctor.
Does it cost anything to come to the Health Center?
Our services are free (except vaccinations or appointments with Shirley
Cole).
Can I get prescriptions filled at the Health Center?
A prescription can be written for you to take to a pharmacy of your choice.
Can I get birth control there?
A prescription can be written for you when you see Shirley Cole.
Can I get over-the-counter medicines there?
Yes, and they are free.
What if I am sick after you are closed?
Please contact your resident assistant for assistance. An urgent care center
called Physicians Plus (two miles north of campus on Main Street) is open
until 8pm weekdays and 10am-5pm on weekends. There is also an
emergency room at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center two
miles south of campus on Main Street.
