Notetaking Procedures
Request note taking services in person at the ODS office each semester (the ODS director will approve services with appropriate documentation).
Provide schedule to director (director will notify you via e-mail or phone with note takers' names and physical descriptions).
Attend class. If you are not in class, you will not receive notes from the note taker. You can ask another student or the professor for copies of the missed notes (NO EXCUSES).
Pick up the notes from the note taker right after class. If you need to make enlargements or changes to your notes, you will need to bring your notes to the ODS office for assistance.
Notify the director if your note taker is absent from class or you feel the note taking is not meeting your needs.
*Note takers are hired through the Office of Disability Services. In a majority of cases, the students hired are taking the same class. The note taker is provided a Notetaking System that contains a three ring binder and carbonless duplicating paper.
