Here are some of the ways that students can benefit from participating in the University's Internship and Cooperative Education Programs:
  • Work Experience - Gain practical work experience that will complement classroom learning and increase your marketability after graduation.
  • Career Testing - Confirm your choice of academic major, explore and clarify your goals.
  • Income - Earn money to help pay for educational expenses.
  • Academic Credit - Earn academic credit that may count toward your degree program.
  • Professional Contacts - Develop professional contacts with a variety of professionals working in your career field who may assist you in locating full-time employment upon graduation.
  • Job Offers - Many employers use internship and cooperative education programs to recruit qualified applicants for future full-time employment opportunities.

FINDING INTERNSHIP/CO-OP OPPORTUNITIES

The Office of Internship and Cooperative Education Programs provides many resources and services that will assist you in identifying employment opportunities related to your major or career interest. If you want to make direct contact with employers, the Office of Internship and Cooperative Education Program can help. We offer a variety of programs and services designed to help you achieve your career goals. Our office can assist you in developing and implementing a job search strategy appropriate to individual needs and goals. The following programs and services are available to students of The University of Findlay:

  •  College Central Network - As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance employment services to students, the Office of Internship and Cooperative Education Program has implemented a FREE online registration service.  Once registered, you will have 24-hour access to internship and co-op opportunities available through the Office of Internship and Cooperative Education Program.   • National Science Foundation - The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation. REU projects involve students in meaningful ways in ongoing research programs or in research projects specifically designed for the REU program.
Locations of Internship/Co-op Postings on Campus

•    Internship, co-op and work experience opportunities are posted on the Web Intern/Co-op listing, filed in binders in the Office of Internship and Cooperative Education Program, student e-mail distribution and posted on the bulletin boards on the first floor of Old Main and in the Brewer Science Hall. Students registered with Internship and Cooperative Education Program can email or call in the job numbers of those positions that they qualify for and request that their resume be referred for consideration.

•    Professional staff members are available to meet with students one on one to provide assistance in the areas of resume writing, cover letters, interviewing, conducting a job search and other employment topics. Appointments may be made in person or by calling 419-434-6772. Staff members are also available to address urgent concerns or questions on a walk-in basis, e-mail or by phone.
