Grand Rounds
The University of Findlay hosted a series of three interdisciplinary continuing education activities for health care providers. Steve Plogsted, Pharm.D., BCNSP, a pharmacy clinical specialist in nutritional support at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, offered the second session, “Pharmacotherapy and Nutritional Aspects of Intestinal Failure in the Pediatric Patient”.The presentation enabled participants to discuss the causes and nutritional challenges and select appropriate drug therapy for pediatric patients with intestinal failure. Participants also discussed specific dosing requirements and administrative issues related to intestinal failure in this patient population.
The University of Findlay College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education and complies with the Criteria for Quality for continuing pharmacy education programming.
Each knowledge-based activity was approved for 1.0 contact hours or 0.1 continuing education units (CEUs).
