The University of Findlay hosted a series of three interdisciplinary continuing education activities for health care providers. Jim Spicer, Pharm.D., CACP, director of pharmacy practice and clinical coordination at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, offered the third session, "Driving Appropriate Therapy for MRSA Infections: Are We There Yet?".

The presentation enabled participants to discuss the trends, types, characteristics and current treatments of MRSA infections. It also delved into the controversy surrounding failed vancomycin treatments and the recently released Clinical Practice Guidelines by the Infectious Disease Society of America.
