Psychology Students to Lead Book Discussions at the Stately Raven Bookstore

Psychology students from The
University of Findlay will lead weekly book discussions at the Stately Raven at
1315 N. Main St., across from the University, through Dec. 4.
Students
who are enrolled in Child and Adolescent Psychology or Death Education classes,
both taught by Evelyn Buday, Ph.D., assistant professor of psychology, are
required to lead a book discussion as part of each class. Buday selects the
reading list.
The
discussion schedule is as follows:

2 – 2:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, “Uglies,” by S.
Westerfeld, topic: what is beauty?
- 7 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, “Still Here with Me:
Teenagers and Children on Losing a Parent,” by S. Sjoqvist, topic: coping
with parental death
- 2 – 2:50 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, “Twilight,” by S.
Meyer, topic: first relationships
- 7 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, “Comfort: A Journey
Through Grief,” by A. Hood, topic: coping with the loss of a child
- 7 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, “The Year of Magical
Thinking,” by J. Didion, topic: coping with the loss of a spouse
- 2 – 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, “Nineteen Minutes,”
by J. Picoult, topic: school violence
- 2 – 2:50 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, “Thirteen Reasons Why,”
by J. Asher, topic: teen suicide
