The University of Findlay will host the third annual
Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity Tuesday, April 7. In addition to student academic presentations and student awards, six guest speakers will be on campus.
Each of the University’s colleges will host award presentations and speakers. Guest speakers include Barbara Meyers at 1:15 p.m. in Winebrenner Theological Seminary (WTS); Kevin Moyer at 1:15 p.m. in the AMU MPR; Dr. Jonathan Davis at 2:15 p.m. in the AMU MPR; Dr. Barbara Piper at 2:15 p.m. in WTS; Dr. Marc Sweeney at 2:15 p.m. in the Davis Street Building, Room 102; and Greg Denecker at 3:15 p.m. in WTS.
Meyers works for the Ohio Department of Education as a regional coordinator for Praxis III for the West Central and North Central Regions of Ohio through the Auglaize County Education Service Center. She received a bachelor’s degree from then-Findlay College.
Moyer is principal and consultant at Global Pathways LLC. He holds a bachelor’s degree from UF and an executive MBA from Bowling Green State University.
Davis is a practicing dentist in Findlay and served active duty with the U.S. Army as 1st Brigade Dental Surgeon. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University and earned a doctorate in dentistry at The Ohio State University School of Dentistry.
Piper is district supervisor for the Visiting Nursing Association of Greater Cincinnati and a clinical instructor and a mentor for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). She earned a bachelor’s degree from Findlay and a doctor of physical therapy degree from Boston University.
Sweeney is an associate professor and chair of clinical pharmacy practice at UF. He received a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University and a doctor of pharmacy degree from The Ohio State University, as well as a master of divinity degree from Southwest Bible College and Seminary.
Denecker is superintendent of Bluffton School District and has held several positions in educational administration. He holds a bachelor’s degree from UF, a master’s degree and principal’s certificate from Bowling Green State University and a superintendent’s license, also from UF.
