Findlay to Host Naturalization Ceremony

The United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio, will hold a naturalization ceremony at The University of Findlay at 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 6, in the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex with the Honorable Jack Zouhary presiding. Approximately 20 individuals from 20 countries will become citizens. Community members are welcome to attend at no cost.
UF junior Sarah Everly will open and adjourn the court. DeBow Freed, Ph.D., UF president, will welcome those in attendance.
Nina Smith, president of the UF Student Government Association, will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Nandini Sharma, a senior at Findlay High School, will talk about the benefits of citizenship. Justin Tossey, a senior at Arlington High School; Tony Rader, a senior at Cory-Rawson High School; and Derek Recker, a senior at Liberty-Benton High School, will address the obligations of citizenship.
Cathy Garcia-Freehan, Esq., law clerk to the Honorable David A. Katz, and Congressman James D. Jordan, U.S. Representative, 4th Congressional District of Ohio, also will offer remarks.
UF senior James Stephani and junior Kara Wilkinson will sing the national anthem, and the UF Anointed Worship Gospel Choir will sing “America the Beautiful” and “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
The Arlington High School band, under the direction of David Sorensen, also will provide music for the program.
