Continuing Education Event Planned for Occupational Therapists

The University of Findlay’s occupational therapy program will present its fifth annual Evening with a Leader in Occupational Therapy, a free continuing education event, Thursday, Feb. 12, and Friday, Feb. 13, in the Alumni Memorial Union (AMU). Karen Jacobs, Ed.D., OTR/L, CPE, FAOTA, will be the featured presenter at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in the AMU North Multipurpose Room and at 9:15 a.m. Feb. 13 in the AMU Endly Room. Jacobs will present “How Full is Your Backpack?” on Thursday and “Being an Occupation Fanatic” on Friday. Jacobs is program director for distance education post-professional OT programs and clinical professor in the department of OT and rehabilitation counseling at Boston University. She is past president and vice president of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and a 2005 recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to the University of Akureyri in Akureyri, Iceland. Jacobs has a master of science in occupational therapy from Boston University and a bachelor of arts from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
